Hoppin’ Holidays in the Park

We are SO excited about our upcoming performance at R.E. Olds Park in Oldsmar on December 13th! It will be our first outdoor recital and we are really looking forward to it!

Thank you for signing up online and securing a performance spot. Below are some important details and requests to keep in mind:

• Creative Keys will need to receive the titles of songs by December 6th – please plan to email [email protected] with this information so we can prepare an online program. Also – very important – vocalists and instrumentalists who wish to use a backing track will need to email [email protected] with the file no later than December 11th so we can be prepared to play your track. Please remember that students may perform 1 or 2 pieces and the total time cannot exceed 4 minutes so that we have enough time for everyone.

• There are 3 parking lots along Shore Drive. Please do keep in mind that if you arrive too early, the previous performance could be taking place and therefore parking may be more difficult. We recommend arriving no more than 15 minutes early to allow for the families in the previous time slot to have time to leave. This will also aid in physical distancing efforts.

• Seating is NOT provided and we will not provide refreshments this year due to the pandemic. Please plan to bring your own chairs / blankets / refreshments. Also, please be sure to leave the area as you found it, taking any trash with you. Please do not linger after the performance time comes to an end – this way the next group can set up without delay.

• When you arrive, please check in at the front of the stage so we can take attendance and provide instructions.

• Important request – if you need to cancel, PLEASE let us know in advance since we have a waiting list. With enough notice we can add students from the waiting list to the performance.

HEALTH & SAFETY MEASURES:

As we all know, physical distancing is very important, so please plan to set up your chairs / blankets 6 feet away from other family groups. The lawn area is very large so there should be plenty of space for everyone. We have limited the number of performers in an effort to ensure that the area does not get crowded.

There will be a hand sanitizing station that piano students will be asked to use as they approach the stage. This is very important since the piano will be a shared instrument. Disposable microphone covers will be used for vocalists and will be changed after each performer.

While seated in your family group, it will not be necessary to wear a face covering unless desired, however we ask that all participants and audience members wear a face covering while walking around the lawn area and approaching staff members. Performers are not required to wear a face covering while performing but should have it with them to wear while walking to and from the stage area (baggies will be provided to keep the mask in clean condition and it can be stored in the hand sanitizing area during the student’s performance).

There is an inherent risk of exposure to COVID-19 involved in attending events in a public space. By participating in, and attending this event, you assume all risks of potential exposure to COVID-19. According to the CDC, seniors and those with underlying medical conditions are particularly vulnerable.

We appreciate your support and understanding in following the health and safety guidelines. We hope to have everyone’s full cooperation so that we will be able to offer future outdoor events.

Can’t wait to see everyone there!
