Is your child interested in learning to play a brass or woodwind instrument? Would you like to give your child a head start before school band begins this August?
Join us this summer for a 4-week introductory class led by Andrea Cook!
- Open to students ages 10 and up who are interested in learning to play a woodwind or brass instrument for the first time
- Class will meet for 1 hour each Friday, 2-3pm from 7/14 to 8/4, culminating in a mini performance for family and friends
- Provides a chance to learn alongside those of a similar ability level in a fun group environment
- Concepts include: Fundamentals of proper posture, hand position, embouchure, basic note reading and rhythm, and instrument care.

$100 plus $15 registration fee
Book fee $10 = $125 Total
Students will need to bring their instrument to class each week

Andrea Cook performed as principal alto saxophonist with the American Saxophone Orchestra in Paris and as an alto with the Choirs of the United States of America at the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai.
She earned her Bachelor of Music Education from Central Michigan University. Upon graduation, she served as the tour manager of Singers of United Lands—an international vocal ensemble—and drove the tour van from Detroit to New Orleans while selling compact discs and tee shirts along the way.
Following the conclusion of the tour, she instructed instrumental and vocal music for a K-12 school situated at the border of Montana and North Dakota. Since relocating to Florida, she has taught language arts at Osceola Middle School; mathematics at Countryside, Palm Harbor University, and Tarpon Springs High Schools; fourth/fifth grade at Fairmount Park Elementary School; and music at Lakewood Elementary School as well as Channelside and Hillsborough Academies of Math and Science.
She teaches brass, woodwinds, double reeds, strings, guitar, and piano. During her spare time, she enjoys riding a motorcycle, training for marathons, and playing the guitar.
