In this engaging and interactive class, music through a variety of activities:

• Note reading
• Rhythm patterns
• Dynamics and music symbols
• Composers and music history
• Instruments of the orchestra
• Intro to piano and guitar

Hands-on practice and group activities will reinforce each concept while encouraging creativity and collaboration!

Cailyn has taught Elementary General Music in Pasco County for 4 years, but on the weekends you can find her playing electric bass and fiddling with her band, Common Ground.

Throughout her classical training, she served as concertmaster of the Palm Harbor University High School orchestra, as well as both violin and viola section leader in the Southeastern University Chamber Orchestra. Other performance experience includes the Fine Arts Summer Academy and Pinellas Youth Symphony. During the course of earning her Bachelor’s in Music Education, Cailyn has played, performed, and taught a variety of instruments, including violin, viola, cello, and double bass.

In addition to leading summer string workshops at Creative Keys, she has taught private lessons for over 8 years to students of all ages. Her work in the public school system makes her exceptionally qualified to work with students of all abilities, and her passion is optimizing each lesson to fit individual students’ needs.
