Chelsea S.

Violin • Piano • Viola • Ukulele – Dunedin & Tampa Location

Starting violin instruction at age 9, music has played an important and consistent role in Chelsea’s life. Throughout her childhood, she continued her violin studies under various instructors and with different youth orchestras. Chelsea graduated from Pinellas County Center for the Arts magnet high school with a focus in music performance/violin. Chelsea went to Southeastern University in Lakeland, FL for Music with a focus on violin. After the conclusion of her education, she began teaching violin, viola, piano, and ukulele privately in 2019, both in her private studio and at Sam Ash Music School.

Chelsea has been actively performing in the Tampa Bay Area since 2021 as both a solo act and in various ensembles playing classical, folk, pop, rock, jazz, and other genres. She has played violin, ukulele, voice, and other instruments in duos, trios, and quartets with other musicians in the area for weddings, events, conferences, and private concerts. Chelsea has been contracted as a violinist in various musicals in the area, including most recently “Come From Away” at Suncoast Broadway Dinner Theater (2026). Chelsea also does recording studio work with the violin in various genres. She currently plays traditional Irish fiddle with the year-round touring “The Black Velvet Band,” and is a multi-instrumentalist and part-founder of “The Ladies of Loudness.”

Chelsea believes strongly that music is for everyone. Music connects us all, no matter the age, background, or any other differentiating factors we have. Music is an integral part of life as a human being, not just a supplement to it. Her teaching style is individualized per student to maximize interest and learning.

When Chelsea is not teaching, performing, or practicing (when does she find the time?!), she enjoys reading, writing fiction, working on her personal music, dabbling in yarn crafts, and playing with her ferret Toby and her beloved two young nephews.
