Chris T.

Guitarist/Composer/Educator Chris T. studied at the world-renowned Berklee College of Music where he was trained to be proficient in many styles of music including Jazz, Rock, Blues, Classical, and World music. His notable instructors include Mick Goodrick, Wayne Krantz, and David Fiuczynski. Upon graduating from Berklee, he quickly established himself as a multi-instrumentalist playing Bass, Mandolin, and Ukulele in addition to performing mainly on Guitar, for many different theatre productions, film/tv work and touring groups. His credits include working with Theatre Offensive, Juri Panda Jones, Melissa Li, Takaya Kawasaki and Rachasea.

Currently, Chris is focusing on his passion to teach music.

He specializes in teaching both improvisation and written music in various styles to diversify and balance his students in building the necessary skills to perform solo and in various different ensemble settings.

Drew had a great piano lesson with Chris. Chris was effective at meeting Drew where he was at. Drew has not had much exposure to the piano but has been very excited about it. Mr. T was patient with Drew and introduced him to keys, got right into it, becoming familiar with the keys using his right hand. Helping him understand how each note corresponds with a number to remember. Mr. T was attentive, friendly, and also had a sense of humor. This was so great for Drew b/c he is a high energy 7 yr old and has a lot of enthusiasm for music! I wasn’t sure how it would go but by the end of the half hour, Drew was playing “Mary had a little lamb” with his right hand. Mr. T mentioned that he takes more of a hands on approach, and integrates theory later on. This is perfect for Drew b/c he was ready to get his fingers tapping on those keys! Overall, great first lesson and looking forward to seeing Mr. T again next week!
