Kristy has been teaching in the Tampa Bay area for over 25 years. While offering her expertise in guitar and bass to students of all ages and experience levels, she also has a 22 year history of performing locally and currently plays with her band, North 2 South. Kristy is a very easy-going, dependable and experienced instructor.
Having graduated from St Petersburg College with a degree in music, she firmly believes the key to success lies in a solid foundation with an emphasis on consistent structure and theory – this ensures the student understands the fundamentals of music. Kristy also believes it’s equally important that students have fun and work on the songs they most enjoy in order to keep them engaged and continually progressing! Her specialties include rock, classical, country and blues guitar, pop and slap technique on the bass, as well as jazz technique on both instruments.
