Roy L is an accomplished cellist, pianist, and dedicated music teacher who enjoys helping students of all ages and experience levels discover the joy of making music. Whether a student is just beginning their musical journey or looking to refine their skills, Roy creates a positive, encouraging environment where every student can grow with confidence.

Roy studied at the Pinellas County Center for the Arts under Alfred Gratta before continuing his musical education at the University of South Florida, where he studied with renowned cellists Helga Winold and Scott Kluksdahl. He currently serves as Assistant Principal Cellist of the Tampa Bay Symphony and has performed with the Florida Orchestra, St. Pete Baroque, and the Venice Symphony. His musical experiences have also taken him internationally through teaching and performing in the Philippines and studying in Japan. One of the highlights of his career was performing at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City under the direction of Dr. André Dubas.

As a teacher, Roy believes that every student can develop both strong musical skills and a lifelong appreciation for music. His lessons combine solid technical instruction with creativity, listening, and musical expression, all tailored to each student’s individual goals and learning style. Whether learning for fun, preparing for performances, or pursuing advanced study, Roy is passionate about helping each student reach their full potential.
